Production process

Since I was confused on if I should do an audio or video podcast, I put a poll up on my Instagram to let the audience themselves decide. Over 70% of the audience chose video podcast, which was around 60 people, so I then finalized doing it in a video podcast format. I also asked for some suggestions on where and how I could upload the podcast in case someone knew something I didn’t and got a few helpful responses on apps I could use. This poll showed me how many people that followed me were interested in my podcast and allowed me to know what my audience is like.
ATL skills used are communication skills and affective skills.

Today I decided to work on the logo for my podcast and this is important since I’ve learned that branding is an important part of having a successful podcast. I wanted my logo to not only reflect me but also be aesthetically pleasing and relevant to the topic I’m talking about. I used what I learned during MYP Design in 9th grade about branding and did a lot of brainstorming about what I wanted my logo to look like. I used an app called Procreate on the iPad and used an apple pencil to draw my logo as I found those tools to be most efficient and user friendly. With a lot of trial and error, I was done with the logo as shown in stage 4. ATL skills that I used for this process are creative thinking skills and transfer skills.
This was my first draft of the logo. I knew I wanted bright and fun colors but this draft was a bit too bright and the hand writing wasn’t what I envisioned.
I took elements of what I liked in the previous draft which were the colors and made them a little less bright and more blended. I think this version is more aesthetically pleasing.
With the colors finalized, I decided to type the name instead of drawing it to make it look cleaner, but the white was too light to be visible and the sticker placement was off.
I finalized on black bold letters so that the name is visible and added cancer related stickers to make it more aesthetically pleasing and fun. I cropped it and finalized it.

After recording my podcast episodes, I had to work on editing the videos. I had to repeat a few parts and cut out empty pauses from the recording which is why I had to edit them. I’m not the most tech savvy person but was able to practice and learn how the iMovie editing app works. With each episode, my editing and recording skills got much better and now I can edit well and enjoy editing. The ATL skill I used during this is affective skills.
